Let's face it. We all love to show off. As stamp collectors we love to show off our collections and tell how we found a rare 1892 Obock, Scott #43a, for only $1 in a dealer's stock book. But let's also face the fact that it is not a good idea to carry that 1892 Obock around in our wallet just waiting for that moment when you can pull it out to dazzle family, friends and fellow collectors. However, there is a 21st century answer to that problem.
Just as virtual reality is creeping into movies and gaming we can have virtual reality creep in to stamp collecting. We can give you the opportunity to show your prize item on the club's web site along with your story of why this is one of your favorite stamps and how you came to acquire it and what you have learned about it.
Here's what you need to do. Give us a scan of your stamp along with a short narrative about how you got it, why it is your favorite stamp and any other information that might be relevant. We will create a web page for you and put a link to it on this page. If you do not have access to a scanner let us know and we will make arrangements for you to get your item scanned.
Then, when you are at a family reunion, a bowling league meeting or just sitting around at an airport you can call up your web page on your phone and regale or bore everyone around you with your prized philatelic possession. If you don't want to be constantly typing in the location of your web page on your phone's browser we will even show you how you can save a link to your page on your home screen. Just click on the link and there's your baby.
