Every once in a while Linn's will carry an article about the Asiago Awards. Some years ago I read an article in Linn's about a stamp club in Asiago, Italy that awarded a prize for the "best stamp in the world" and had been doing so since 1970. From that article and through correspondence with the Secretary, Luciano Varaschini, of the Circolo Filatelico Numismatico Sette Comuni Asiago (Numismatic and Philatelic Chapter of the Seven Asiagp Communities). I began collecting the stamps that had received the Asiago Award each year. I even created exhibit pages for each award-winning stamp by category for each year. I translated the Jury's comments from Italian to English. I built a collection and gained a friend in Italy. (and became an eBay customer and a philatelic exhibitor.)

My exhibit consisted of 8 frames with 16 pages in each frame for a total of 128 pages. The theme of the exhibit, as stated on the first page, was to show the first 4 decades of the awards from 1971 thru 2010. Take a tour of my exhibit. Shown below are the 8 frames.
